My Experience

Welcome, I'm Sylvia.

I graduated the NY & CT Clinical Massage Therapist Program (1,040 hours) at the CT Center for Massage Therapy in Westport, CT In December of 2000. I maintain professional licenses for NY & CT, hold NCBTMB status as well as being a member of the AMTA. I continue to attend workshops and training. I enjoy integrating massage modalities and energy work to fit the needs of each individual client. In August of 2008 I decided to leave my 6 year position of full time therapist and educator/ trainer at a prominent spa in Ridgefield, CT. I opened my own office and worked at the Omega Holistic Studies Institute Wellness Center in Rhinebeck, NY for 4 years. I also worked at spas, chiropractic offices, and other holistic centers while I continued expanding my own practice.

My Knowledge

In addition to being a Licenced Massage Therapist, my work includes Deep Tissue and Swedish Massage, Acupressure, Thai Massage, Hot Stones, Myofascial Release Therapy ( John Barnes) Reflexology, Positional Release Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy (Upledger Institute), Reiki Master ( since 2006) Shamanic Energy Medicine ( The 4 Winds Society) (2011/2018) Shamanic Studies with Sandra Ingerman,Crystal and Intuitive healing techniques.

What inspired me to become a healing practitioner?

After two years of hairdressing and a few of office jobs, I decided to go to massage school. The direction was very clear that this was the path for me. I often came across people who had headaches and migraines. I naturally was able to alleviate their pains in a matter of minutes. They all encouraged me to go and study massage therapy, but I didn’t feel that I was ready.. However, shortly after , I started my studies in 1998 . A month before my mother passed away from her fours years of challenges of breast cancer.

How did I become involved in energy work?

This calling was awakened in me the more I worked with massage clients. I realized that I was becoming more empathic with each client session. I was absorbing energy is that was not serving me. This was hindering me in my work and health. So I started studying Reiki and ways of protecting myself. Once I had mastered, a basic foundation of self care and boundaries, I was led into helping my clients take care of their own energy fields. I do this through sessions where I preform healing techniques and teach clients how to empower themselves, and take hold of their own energetic and physical heal
